Yates Row

Step-by-step technique for Yates Row, an exercise for upper back using barbell. From the Frog Fitness exercise library.

How to do it

  1. Stand with a slight torso lean (about 45°), grip the bar underhand.
  2. Pull the bar toward your lower stomach.
  3. Squeeze your shoulder blades at the top.
  4. Lower under control.
Coach tip: More upright than a standard row. Allows heavier loads.
